New builds

The structural integrity and finish quality of any new build are determined by the carpentry that underpins it. At DLAC Constructions, we work with builders across Melbourne, providing a comprehensive full carpentry package across the three critical stages of new residential construction: framing, lock-up and fix.

By engaging DLAC Constructions across all three stages, you eliminate the coordination risk that comes with splitting carpentry work between multiple contractors. Our team understands the project from foundation to completion, and that continuity translates directly into better outcomes.

What we offer

We work with builders and developers across Melbourne who want to understand exactly what is involved before they commit. These are the questions we hear most often.

  • Our full carpentry package covers framing, lock up and fix stages. This includes wall and roof framing, external cladding and window installation, and all internal finishing carpentry such as door hanging, skirting, architraves and built-in joinery.

  • We work with both. Our systems are scalable, allowing us to deliver consistent quality whether we are working on a single bespoke residence or across multiple sites for a project builder.

  • We are experienced with conventional timber framing, engineered timber products such as LVL and I-beams, and steel and timber hybrid systems. We work to the specifications provided by your engineer and architect.

  • By maintaining the same team across framing, lock up and fix, we ensure continuity and accountability. Our site supervisors conduct quality checks at each stage before the next phase commences.

  • Yes. While we encourage engagement across all three stages for the best results, we are able to provide standalone framing, lock up or fix carpentry as needed.

Why work with us

Precision framing

Engineered plans executed to exacting tolerances by experienced structural carpenters.

Reliability

We commit to timelines and deliver on them, keeping your entire build schedule on track.

Scalable systems

Consistent quality, whether we are delivering one home or ten across multiple sites.

Framing is where your build takes its first physical form. Our carpenters work from engineered plans to erect wall frames, roof structures, floor systems and supporting elements with exacting accuracy. Every joint, every brace, every connection point is executed to meet both the structural requirements of the engineering specification and our own standards of workmanship. We understand that what happens at the framing stage determines everything that follows.

The lock up stage brings your build to the point of being weather-sealed and secure. This includes the installation of external cladding, windows, external doors, fascia, guttering and roofing. Our team coordinates closely with other trades during this phase to ensure that sequencing is maintained and that each element is installed to create a tight, well-finished building envelope.

Fix carpentry is where the interior of a home comes together. Door hanging, architrave and skirting installation, built-in joinery, shelving, staircase construction and all internal timber finishing work falls within this stage. It is the most visible expression of carpentry in a completed home, and it requires a level of care and skill that distinguishes a well-built house from an ordinary one.

Our crews are experienced across a wide range of construction methods, including timber frame, steel frame hybrid systems, engineered timber products and conventional hardwood framing. We adapt our approach to the requirements of each project while maintaining the consistent quality standards that our builder clients expect.

Reliability is not negotiable in new home construction. Delays at the framing stage cascade through the entire build program, affecting every trade that follows. We commit to agreed timelines and we deliver on those commitments. Melbourne's residential construction sector demands carpenters who understand the pace, the standards and the expectations of modern building.
